Description

A PLACE WHERE NATURE AND THE POWER OF ITS ELEMENTS HUMBLE ALL IN ITS WAKE. THIS IS BIG COUNTRY, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, BE SPELLBOUND!

The crisp clean early morning air pierces my chest as I walk over to greet Llewelend Norman at his farm gate.

His wide eager smile and bone-crunching handshake was a solid welcome as he pointed to a nearby krantz, where we would be able to view the majority of the farm from this vantage point.

As the valley mist began to lift I was amazed by the nature-filled sights which lay before my eyes as the land dropped away in deep valleys toward a massive gorge with crystal clear pools of water which eventually leads to the Kei.

I commented on the size and quantity of Aloes in bloom within this typical Kei Valley bushveld biome and thereafter Llewelend who couldn’t hold back any further gave his full rendition of this prized beauty which he and his brother have owned for the past 15 years.

“Never mind the Aloes Justin; you should see spekboom and all the cycads. The farm is sweet veld and the wildlife is prolific with Kudu, Bushbuck, Impala, Blesbuck, Mountain Reedbuck, Duiker, Warthog, Bushpig and Cape vulture.”

For agriculture purposes, the farm is suitable for cattle, goats, sheep and includes a basic cattle handling facility and kraals for goats.

This farm has Kei river frontage for kilometres and the old lands once resurrected along with improved infrastructure would be suited to Lucerne production. Buildings are modest with a few scattered storerooms.

The 551HA portion has 5 camps and receives water from the Kei River, various seasonal springs and 2 stock dams.
The 241HA portion has 2 camps; one is fully game fenced and receives water from 2 stock dams + Kei River.

Scenic, desolate, unspoilt, awe-inspired views.

I once heard an old farmer say that
the Kei Valley is God’s country due to its supreme beauty.
See me on that Krantz,
that’s my auction position
