10 Auction Day Tips

10 TIPS FOR THE BIG “A” DAY

1. LAWN

The first thing people see. Be sure your lawn is well trimmed and edged, flowerbeds cultivated and lawn free of debris.

2. LIGHT

Double check to make sure all bathrooms and bedrooms are bright and airy.

3. KITCHEN

Your kitchen should be gleaming and spotless. A well coordinated and clean kitchen will impress potential buyers.

4. BRIGHTEN UP

Check all walls, ceilings and woodwork. If necessary, repaint where needed. It is a small investment that can bring a good return.

5. ATTICS AND BASEMENTS

Get rid of all unnecessary articles in these areas. Arrange the remaining articles neatly to show these spaces to their best advantage.

6. CLOSETS

Closets appear larger when arranged neatly. Take all unnecessary items out, and then take out half of what is left. Make sure remaining items are placed properly and orderly.

7. FAUCETS

Fix any leaky faucets. If you fail to do so, prospects may think you have faulty plumbing.

8. LITTLE THINGS

Take care of sticky drawers, loose doorknobs and warped cabinet doors. They upset potential buyers.

9. CLEANLINESS

Bright windows and spotless rooms help your house. Keep rooms furnished. Empty rooms can be depressing.

10. NIGHT TIME

When showing after dark, turn on all lights throughout the house. A well-lit house gives the feeling of friendliness and warmth.
